The story of vAxa

Växa means “to grow” in Swedish. What does growth mean to you?

Growth isn’t about constant striving or doing more. It’s about becoming more aligned with who you are and how you want to live and lead.

Sometimes it looks like stepping into something new. Other times it’s letting go of ways of working that no longer fit.

In the words of the founder of VAXA

Åsa Lee

What is your professional background, and how does it shape your coaching?

Before founding VAXA, I spent more than 15 years working in global communication, leadership, and organizational change, including executive roles in international organizations. I am also a certified Senior Coach through the International Authority for Professional Coaching & Mentoring (IAPC&M).

Earlier in my career, I competed as part of the Swedish national swim team at the Olympic level. That experience shaped how I think about performance, discipline, and long-term growth.

I later studied at the University of Southern California and have lived and worked in Los Angeles, New York, Stockholm, and now Chicago. Working across cultures and industries has given me a broad perspective on leadership and human behavior. I’ve supported leaders and teams through transformation and complexity in both global NGOs and one of the world’s largest retailers.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported and informally coached dozens of leaders and professionals. I’ve seen how much clarity and communication matter, especially in moments of complexity and transition.

That combination of experience allows me to understand both the strategic and human sides of leadership. I know what responsibility feels like, what complexity looks like, and how important it is to have space to think clearly.

What is your vision for VAXA?

VAXA exists to support people and organizations in growing with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

I believe communication builds trust. Leadership is strongest when rooted in empathy. And people can thrive during both stability and change

For me, growth isn’t about constant expansion. It’s about alignment and sustainability, creating space for reflection, learning, and intentional action.

How would you describe your coaching style?

Reflective, structured, and human.

I bring structure without rigidity and warmth without losing focus. Clients often tell me they feel grounded and supported, while also thoughtfully challenged.

We balance reflection with practical steps forward.

If someone is considering coaching with you, what would you say to them?

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

If you’re feeling uncertain, at a crossroads, or simply curious about what could be different, that’s enough to begin.

We start with a discovery conversation to explore whether working together feels right. Coaching can be short-term or ongoing.

Growth doesn’t have to be dramatic. Sometimes it begins with one honest conversation
